In July 2013, the UK introduced its own version of a “tax transparent fund,” known as an Authorised Contractual Scheme (ACS). Introduced partly to compete with similar tax transparent vehicles in other European markets, ACS gives investors the opportunity to pool assets within a single portfolio. The benefit? Cost efficiencies, streamlined management and the ability to take advantage of economies of scale.
